First Things First
An injury to one IS an injury to all. If you work for a living, it does you no good to tear down
another worker, whether they're fortunate enough to have a union or not. It does no good, on the other hand, to
support "the union" if that means you lose sight of what all workers have in common in terms of friends and enemies,
hopes and fears, work life and non-work life. The fact is that when one worker gets a square deal from an employer,
it increases the odds of other workers being able to command a square deal from their employer. It's in our best
interest, then, to see each other as brothers and sisters rather than competitors.
